Are you ready for Halloween?

‘Tis the season to be busy! As October approaches it brings us to the months ahead of holidays, parties, decorations and of course craft projects. This month I think you will find a few projects that will not only help you get thru all the holidays but start your seasonal festivities off right.

We came up with a great way to create your very own “Spooky Invitations”. The best part is that your party favor is built right in! Tulip has these awesome iron on’s. See how we turned them into invitations.

Speaking of spooky - your kids, grand kids or maybe even you, will love to create
these amazing Halloween decorations. The best part is that they come with
everything you need to be devilishly creative.

Your table will never be without a centerpiece again with Flora Crafts new Create in a Vase! I really love this idea. You can use this vase over and over again. It even makes a great hostess gift!

If you need some creative inspiration do what I do and flip thru Creative Home Arts magazine. I love all of the great ideas they have and this month as an added bonus, I am bringing one of their creations to life. Learn how to create a beautiful Amber necklace and earring set for yourself or someone special in your life. You won’t believe how easy it is to make your own jewelry.

Tips for Halloween Crafts:

  • Did you know that if you spray your carved pumpkin inside and out with an anti-transpirant it will prevent moisture loss and last longer? I use Wilt-Pruf which you can find at home and garden stores.

  • If you have little ones around the house, you might want to consider pumpkin painting instead of pumpkin carving. It’s safer; it opens up a wide creative door and kids love to paint!

  • Using makeup instead of a mask can prevent breathing problems, site restriction and the hassle of removing and replacing the mask. Plus, makeup is more fun to put on!

So you wanna be a TV star? How to be a craft star on TV.

When I was 18 my sister took me to see a psychic. I asked her "what I will be when I grow up?" She confidently replied, "a newscaster". What! You have got to be kidding me is exactly what I shrieked in utter disgust feeling ripped off. What a wack job I thought.
Well low and behold 10 years later I would become just that! A newscaster. Who knew? I never intended to be a TV personality it just happened. 15 years, two Emmy's and the title of "Craft Queen"
here I sit before you to tell you....YOU CAN DO IT TOO! I spent many years(and still do) in front of a camera talking to hundreds of thousands of people every day for 4 hours every day! A 3 minute segment that I was responsible for everyday turned my life around. After reading the news and doing interviews I did a craft segment everyday for 10 years. (that's 2,400 hundred segments by the way) and created crafts shows that have been very successful. I have seen it, done it and said it all...not always well. But crafts has always been my calling. Some how, some way I am going to figure out a way to give the masses the self confidence to create beautiful things in their lives. When I watch Martha Stewart my heart aches thinking...I want to be standing right where she is someday! Well I'm not there yet and I will die trying.
Thru my years on TV I learned one thing. I love to teach. It just so happens I get to do it on TV!
I was shooting a segment today for my web based show with my good crafty friend Crafty Chica.
I was whining about the fact that I really don't have a product line or a bunch of books or blah blah blah and I don't know what to do with myself. All I am good at is doing TV. And she said...why don't you teach people how to be on TV! WOW. Great idea. So you all have the Chica to thank because now I am going to begin sharing my knowledge with you! Starting tomorrow! (7/31/08) I do a radio show on the CraftRadioNetwork live every Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Pacific Coast time. I am bringing on a former co-worker of mine who is now running her own Public Relations business. She spent many years booking guests and walking them thru their first interview. I will begin breaking thru the myths of Live TV. How to get on TV and where to begin. As I work thru it and flush it out I will keep adding to it on my blog, and on my radio show. So here is your big chance...tune in and listen! If you have a question call us at 1-877-474-3302. If you can't listen at your computer live no worries you can listen to the archives. You can find them on my site or the networks site. Wow! I feel really excited to help those of you who feel the passion to educate the masses. If you are going to put yourself out there you want to do it right. I'm here to help! To see some of my work you can watch the live TV segments I still do every Tuesday and Thursday. Just click on Terri O Live. bye for now and get your questions ready for tomorrows show!
Love,
Terri O

April Fools

Wow I can't believe April is here! I just found out I am pregnat and it's twins. I was so drunk when I heard the news I crashed my car. The glue gun I had hot wired into the dash set my purse on fire and I lost a thousand dollars cash.....you guessed it April Fools!
No seriously I am happy spring has sprung and I get to show off more webisodes. I have some fun and quirkey projects and some that will plain'ol save you some time.
If you get a chance check out the segments I did on Good Morning Arizona. Last week I showed off a really cool project using 12 x 12 squares of styrofoam to hang on your wall. They are sooooo cute. Hundreds of people logged on to see it. This month I am going to show off some of the stuff I shot at the Craft and Hobby trade show. Wait until you see the cabinet organizer! OMG!
Since it is so nice outside I thought I would do a couple of segments on creating outdoor decor.

In the next couple of days check out the new webisodes. I also posted the video from the media tour I did in New York. The theme was "Fashion Crafting" I loved the solder jewelry. BTW I did that on Good Morning Arizona too last week! Enjoy!

Welcome to my world!

It’s here! I’ve arrived! Finally! Yippie! My baby, the long awaited A Terri O Show.com is born! This has been a vision of mine for a long time. To have my very own show doing what I love to do for as long as I want to do it. No more trying to jam a “how to” project into 3 minutes of live TV. No more putting pieces of tape over the product name because the network won’t let me say who makes it! No more having people tell me what to say, when to say it and how I should say it! That is why I say “Welcome to MY world”. A Terri O world! Thank God for the internet. And because of it this is what you’ll find in my world.
Paper, paint, home decorating tips, money saving tips, DIY projects, kids crafts, quick tips for busy moms, entertaining tips, product education and so much more! Ask yourself these questions….
Have you ever seen something really cool, wanted it but you knew that it was way over priced and you could probably make it yourself for a lot less if you knew how?......
Then AterriOshow.com is 4U.

Have you ever looked around yourself and thought “I want to be different. The same is boring!”….
Then AterriOshow.com

Have your kids ever begged you to buy them something so ridiculously expensive and you knew they would only use it or wear it once and be done with it and if you don’t do it you feel like a loser?.....
Then AterriOshow.com is 4U.

Do you tell people that you are not crafty but secretly way down deep inside you want to be but you just don’t know how to get started?
Then AterriOshow.com is 4U.

Have you ever walked into a craft store and wondered the isles looking for something fun to do, left empty handed, confused or spent more money then you wanted? …..
Then AterriOshow.com is 4U.

Do people call you Martha Stewart?
Then AterriOshow.com is NOT 4U but tell your uncrafty friends!

I will keep you blogged along the way as I begin my creative journey in sharing my passion for crafts with you. As you may or may not know I am the spokesperson for the entire industry. That makes up manufacturers, retailers, publishers, distributors and designers. What that means is I’ve got the inside scoop! I am privileged to know them all and see what they are doing and how they set the trends.
Soon I hope to have a place for you to share your projects with me. I am working on that. But for now you can see projects that I am sharing with you. I am encouraging manufactures of products to be a part of this site so I can show YOU how to use what’s out there. I want to be your number one resource. I want you to learn from me and most importantly I want you to have fun. We will do everything from decoupage, sewing, painting, scrapbooking, knitting, crochet, paper crafts, jewelry making, flower arranging and anything else I can think of. We’ll decorate your home, yourself, your kids, your parents, your car and whatever else we can come up with.
I hope you are as excited as I am and will tell your friends to log on a watch. The Craft Queen is on a roll!!!!!!!!!!!!
